The Weatherby line of Magnum calibers are certain candidates for fast, flat shooting, and hard hitting. They are well established as they have exsisted since mid WW2. They come in sizes to handle every thing from a varmit to African game. That being said they are only cost effective if you are set up to reload (the brass is the expensive part, but will last several loadings)
We have a .270WM and .300WM here at the house and love them....with the boss break on the muzzle of the MK V .300WM, we have no trouble going though 60rds in a range session( and dont feel beat up and sore shouldered)
