Seems that the son-in-law did more than blow up his new G30; he also failed to read the instructions that came with the 2000 and assembled a couple of major components incorrectly. (Of not so little consequence, the powder measure)

We reassembled the press, making sure that everything was done correctly and installed the lock-out die. That lock-out die really works. It absolutely stops everything if there's either no powder or too much powder in the case.

We loaded several hundred rounds of really fine .45 ammo. Had no trouble with the priming system. I found the press to be one of the smoothest-operating that I've used. I really prefer it to a Dillon 550. If I were in the market for a press that didn't self-index, I'd probably buy the 2000.
