I owned a S&W Military and Police 9x19mm pistol for a few months in 2011/2012.
For general cleaning/service, I'd buy a synthetic CLP or maybe some Ballistol.
Good brands include; LPX, Weaponshield, Gunzilla. Hoppes # 9 & a Viper Boresnake would be good for M&P barrel cleaning.
Birchwood-Casey's Synthetic Gun Scrubber is good for cleaning but CLPs do a good job,

Don't use a lot of oil or CLP.
