One reason I've started shooting more of my .22LR through a revolver than an autopistol is because of the troubles I've had getting reliable .22LR autopistols and issues with lower quality .22LR ammo. Shooting is supposed to be fun and it's not fun if you have to keep clearing jams.
With a .22revolver, even if the ammo isn't great, it's unlikely you'll ever have to do anything more than discard a dud or two and that happens automatically when you dump the empties.
