What's the appeal of .22LR revolvers?

I'm not saying I don't like them. As a rule, I like revolvers and I'd happily try one, I'm just curious why large portions of the TLF board go utterly doo-lally when a full-size revolver in .22LR becomes available.

I guess I just associate revolvers with .38Spl and above.

So what is the appeal?
