I would take a .30-06 over an 8mm-06 for the availability of ammunition.

There isn't an animal in this state and probably yours that would require the 9.3x62. I would consider it overkill for anything short of grizzly bear, polar bear, and bison on this continent. If I ever planned to go hunting in Africa it would look more appealing.

As far as successful hunts with the calibers you mentioned, I have no stories. But both should kill anything that walks on 4 legs on this continent without issue.
