Topics covered in this course include using a firearm, a folding knife, and empty-hands in both lethal force and intermediate force modes, assessing and categorizing threats in accordance with the Universal Force Continuum, why and how to transition from one force option to another…and back if necessary, accessing weapons under duress, the dynamics of contact-distance fighting, employing varied levels of force during a multiple aggressor encounter, lethal force applications during ground engagements, and use of unconventional or improvised weapons to even the odds when facing violence.
