Wadcutters - any 148 grain that is a good deal for practice and for carry the Buffalo Bore Standard Pressure Short Barrel 150 grain hardcast wadcutter. Will go two feet in ballistic gelatin. There is nothing that will perform better in terms of accuracy, recoil, and straight-line penetration. The Buffalo Bore 158 grain SWC fragments in ballistic gelatin so I have no faith in the BB SWC and the wadcutter has a much bigger meplat for max destruction.
