My input, zero it at 220 yds and keep all shots that range or less. I would recomend the 120 gr. bullets with MAX safe loads and a 20" barrel. I shot a big buck with one behind the shoulder at 150 yds. He just kind of humped up and walked down the hill. He was still standing there a minute later when I got up there to finally put him down with the second shot. Did the 16" carbine with 110 gr. loads at about 2600 fps get the job done? Yes. With authority? No. I view it as an anemic 30-30. I view it as a short range proposition, the round is really helped by a longer 20" barrel contrary to common misconception.
