Many Spanish guns of that period, especially the "no name" ones, were made of cheap pot metal, AKA cast iron, so called because it is the same material they made cook pots out of. Some will work fine, at least for a while, but they are not quality guns and, IMHO, not anything to be depended on for any serious purpose.
