If ruger would use some common sense in their proprietary cartridges, such as stretching standard ones like SW does, I might buy, but they don't.
480 may very well be the best big bore hunting round. My buddy literally has them all and has shot them all quite a bit. More than one in a freedom arms. I sat and talked to him for about 45 minutes, mostly about 460 SW, 480 Ruger and 50 SW.
Even by the companies releases you can see:
460 was designed to be the fastest production cartridge.
50 SW was designed to be the most powerful.
480 Ruger was designed to be the best hunting cartridge.
