No.
Nor have I had splinters from any wooden saw, shovel, hoe, broom, or hammer handle. Come to think of it, I've never got a splinter from any wooden gun stock or grip either.
I've gotten many splinters working with lumber and learned a long time ago not to skate in socks with the grain on a hardwood floor.
