Magnum primers make a bit more fire to better light the stubborn slow ball powders like 296/H110. The Winchesters will do that, so consider them magnum primers. I don't think the difference is particularly great in large pistol. I know lots of people who shot those Winchesters in match loads after they combined the types for large pistol, despite the claim that was less accurate. If you are reloading for the first time, you will be working with a starting loads anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it. You might find a few tenths of a grain of difference as you get near maximum loads. Just watch for pressure signs as you work up.
