Im just spitballing here, but doesnt isn't the rifle/shooter a little more accurate when the rifle is a floater? I think it's because the barrel itself isnt being "rested" on anything, any movement of the barrel would be traced back to moving the action of the rifle itself, harder to do than bumping the stock and throwing your entire shot off target.
Just my thoughts.
