I put a used Redfield peep on my 94 Winchester and it was a great improvement. The receiver was factory tapped for it and the install was easy. I started the sight in process by aligning the peep with the original sights. That got me on paper at 50 yards...
The guys around here told me that the fiber optic insert front sights are fragile and wash out if you're shooting in the direction of the setting sun. I don't know for sure but that's what the guys at my gun club said when I was asking around...
