There are many other legitimate ways to get the big bore, brutal recoil experience than to use dangerous reloads. While doubling up two light bullets to replace a single heavy projectile may work, it certainly won't be any different than the loading of a single heavy projectile weighing the same using the same amount of powder. .454s and 500 S&Ws have brutal enough recoil in SAAMI spec'd loads, one does not have to go above and beyond them.
