Hey, just for fun try this load in the .223 Remington:

13 grains Blue Dot

40 grain bullet, (V-max, Ballistic tip, etc.)

The noise is like a 22 Mag but the velocity will be in the 3,000 FPS range. You can almost leave your ear muffs off. The point of impact will be very near a 50 grain or 55 grain standard load, you don't even need to change scope setting for varmint shooting.

It's a pleasant load, accurate and quiet. You can turn your .223 rifle into a Hornet with this ammo. Just never increase that 13 grains of Blue Dot powder charge in the .223.
