The 7mm08 is a .308 with ten grains less bullet weight for the most common hunting load.
I wouldn't want to be facing a big brown but if I could snipe him from a ways off in the ear hole I might consider it.

I love my 7mm-08 and consider it a premier deer/pig round for our neck of the woods. I do shoot a heavier bullet than most at 150grns over about 45.5grns of H4350. I equate it to the 165grn in the .308 Win. Nothing that I have shot with it has lived to tell a tale. Most of the time and for some reason it has left a devastating wound that's larger than my '06's.

I just wish I could get one chambered in this Savage 10 Precision Carbine set-up that I have and not spend a mint doing it.
