Nope. There's certainly a debate, and that's one position, but I cannot agree that it's THE BEST or even THE MOST ACCEPTED method.
The plasma envelopes the cylinder. That's simply a fact; there are plenty of pictures showing that to be the case. Any opening at either end is an
opportunity (I did NOT say guarantee) for a chain fire to occur. THE BEST method is to ensure that both ends are sealed: properly fitting caps combined with properly fitting projectiles, wads and/or grease.
