For long term exposure in nasty weather I use a motorcycle product made by S100 called, appropriately enough, "Corrosion Protectant".

According to this test, Eezox or Corrosion-X are about the best products out there. I've used Eezox, but until I read this, I'd not heard of Corrosion-X.
