You are entitled to your opinion, of course, but in this instance your opinion would be wrong. This is not in any way meant to disparage your past service as an LEO, but the intent and purpose of the LEOSA was in no way related to "We still need you." The LEOSA does not convey any authority as an LEO outside of that granted by your state. Which means if you are a police officer in Albuquerque, NM, anywhere outside of NM you are an ordinary citizen who happens to have Big Brother's permission to carry a firearm for your own self defense outside of your home state. If you are retired, you no longer have any police authority even in your own state and none is conveyed by the LEOSA. You are just another retired guy, but one who happens to have permission from Big Brother to carry a sidearm without a permit.
