In working w/ recruits and trainees of varied backgrounds, stature and sex, I've seen that not every body can shoot the 12 ga pump well. It is down right abusive (recoil wise) to some folks. A carbine of some persuasion is called for in these situations. (M1 car, Mini, AR, even a pistol caliber lever).

If the HD longun will have smaller users, its something to consider.
