I have found that one of the best sources of gun money is travel reimbursements and per diem payments that my employer gave directly to me. Makes a great slush/gun fund. Wives nearly always have a slush fund, why can't you.
Some years back there was an article in a hunting magazine titled "Gun Running Past Your Wife". It was comical. Might be able to find it on the internet.
