Umm, if you are wanting a different rifle, why not get a different caliber? .270 and 7mm are basically the same bullet. The 7mm-08 will pretty much do anything that the .270 will do, but in a smaller package. Just like the old argument of wether the .308 is better than a 30-06. Basically the same, until you get into the really heavy .30 cal bullets.

If you want to go up in Caliber, then I would suggest you go with a .308 as your next one.

If you want to go down in Caliber then get a .243.

IMHO, getting a .270 when you already have a 7mm-08 is not going to fill any niche you may have in your rifle line-up...
