I am wanting to purchase a used 686. I have found one in a local gun shop that was purchased in 1988 and so does not have any of the new mods that people seem to have issues with MIM etc. It would appear to be in pristine condition, reportedly has never been fired except when leaving the factory, and the condition of the gun would certainly appear to support these statements. It has a traditional all wood grip. It has the original box, all the papers, manual etc. with it. They have it priced at 699.99. I have negotiated them down to 661.00. I would be more comfortable with 590 or 600 as that would seem to be the highest blue book value. I assume that they want top dollar, but it is a thing of beauty. The quesiton is am I getting hosed, or does it seem to be fair price, etc.
