On another section of the forum, I asked about the durability of the finger type bushing on the Series 70 1911. Apparently my concern is valid as most replies were to change to the solid bushing.
I have a catalog coming from Brownell's who state that they stock both the "drop in" as well as the "needs fitting" bushing.
One member I e-mailed suggested using the drop-in as it will still shoot better than one can hold.
This gun is a Gold Cup that shoots one hole 10 shot groups at 21 feet.
Do the rest of you also suggest the drop-in?
And.....what type of fitting is needed on the fitted type? I am handy with fixing guns and have done stuff like fit SAA triggers to hammers and minor stuff like that. Would it be foolish to attempt to fit a barrel bushing?
