I've been carrying mine 2 months now, using the ETW leather holster iwb from eBay for $45 shipped, it's specifically molded for the XDS custom fit and very comfy. As for defensive ammo, Winchester PDX1 bonded 230 grain jhp can't be beat for $24 for a box of 20. 2x 7 round mags for backup + 1x 5 round mag primary + 1 in the chamber.
