I have had Ruger, Colt, S&W and Taurus. The only one that ever broke was the colt. I voted for Ruger because my Ruger has been around a lot longer than the others. Not that this makes it any more reliable, but it has certainly seen lots of adverse conditions in its time, 50 years without a hiccup.

The Colt is a little older, but had one problem. The pawl broke and the cylinder wouldn't lock up. This was soon after it was new. I got a new part from Colt and installed it myself. It took some honeing on the new part to get it right. Since then it has been good. I'll never live long enough to give the others the same test, but for now they have been 100%.
