IMR 4831 would be a good choise for 270 win. It is also very good in 243 win. The powders most often recommended by the manuals are IMR 4831 and H-4831. However, due to the large charge weights, I like to work with IMR 4064 and Varget instead. 48.5 grains of IMR 4064 vs. 56 grains of IMR 4831 is a big recoils reduction since I can't even buy an after market recoil pad for my Mossberg 100 ATR. Varget and IMR 4064 are also nice because they are broad spectrum powders. They have applications for everything from 223 remington through 30-06 Springfield.
