Costumes are big at SASS shoots and also NSSA shoots and at rendezvous where you are supposed to pretend it's still 1840.
At the TMLRA shoot I linked to, shorts, tennis shoes, and t-shirts is about as fancy as the costumes get, and we all use our real names too.
