I bought an old 61/2" three screw that had been carried many a mile by a bear hunter who was a houndsman. Very little blueing left and a problem with the rear sight. I shipped it off to Ruger and it was like new when it was returned to me. I think the 61/2" is the best length for a hunting revolver, but I'll admit that the shorter barrel balances better. The addition of Pachmayer grips changes the comfort level a whole lot....Essex
