The P99 is a superior pistol to the Glock 19.

Better fit & finish, better trigger, better ergonomics, and equal durability/reliability (maybe better than Gen 4 Glocks). The P99 tends to be less succeptible to limp-wristing than Glocks, and the P99 is well-known for being able to reliably eat pretty much ANY ammo (including lead reloads). Along with the Glocks and H&K USPs, the P99 is one of the most-proven polymer-framed pistols on the market.

But, since you are already invested in Glock 17 mags, that makes your decision a little tougher.
