If I could NEVER do it, I wouldn't. As it is now, they usually get a quick wipe-down with oil and the innards get cleaned if/when accuracy degrades.

Same here. Thank God for Stainless Steel. I don't enjoy washing the car or the bikes either. Can't count how many times I've spent a cold rainy/snowy day tromping 10 miles thru the woods only to have to come home and clean the water outta my guns and relube them AFTER skinnin' a deer out, only to repeat the process due to nasty weather the next day. I do it, but I don't enjoy it.
