Actually, this is my second one. I gave one to a very good friend for his birthday.

My first one had some issues early on with extractor tension. Once that was fixed, no other problems.

I had three 1911s at the range one Friday. . . a SIG Tacops, Smith and Wesson 1911E and the Ruger. My friend liked the Ruger the best, so I gave it to him as a birthday present. He really is a very good friend. He has taught me a lot and taught my daughter how to shoot before she went to work for the agency in McLean.

My wife played for their wedding and they have been best of friends since.

So I was over at the LGS today and they still had the gun on display. I could hardly believe it as I saw it yesterday and was thinking about getting it if it was still there today.

Someone put the idiot scratch on it and the salesman told me they had four more in the back. I told him I would take one.

I may take it out and shoot it tomorrow.

I am still trying to get my hands on a Springfield loaded M1911-A1 9mm.

I know they are in production this month but I don't know if my LGS has one coming or not.

They are kind of scarce here.

Being retired is building my arsenal
