Trying a .243 this year. 30'06, .300Wby, .300Win, .280, .270, .222, 12ga, 7mmMag, 7mm-08, 30-30, 35 Rem, .41 Mag, .44 Mag, .45 Win Mag, .444 and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.
Of all the rounds I own, I think that for shots to 300yards, which are rare on our wood goats, the 7mm-08 is about the perfect cartridge. Plenty of energy, good trajectory, mild recoil, short action and proven performance.
