Reloading is actually very simple if you just want to produce a volume of a load you like.

Get a good progressive press (yep, that's what I started with) and several good reloading manuals. Use a press that accepts either an RCBS lockout die (preferred) or powder cop to prevent overloads or underloads.

You will only need to use calipers to set up the press by measuring total length OR you can cheat like I do and buy bullets with crimp cannelure to tell you where to crimp and forget the calipers.

Read the manuals, select a starting point. Load several rounds with the starting load, several more with .2 gr more, etc. until you have several that are the max you want to try. Take them to the range and check them out. Overpressure should not happen if you do not exceed recommendations. If you are going to push it, monitor primer and case for over pressure. A chrono can help as well.

Set up for the load you liked best and crank 'em out.

I think it took me all of one day plus one day at the range to get to where I wanted.
