I was told you need a 1 in 8 twist barrel to shoot the 100+grain bullets. I had a 1 in 7.5 cut in 243AI for the 115DTAC/115 Berger bullet. I then got a 1 in 8 twist for my other gun for shooting the 105 Amax, SMK, Berger.

I run 4350 for powder it gets me the best velocity, but Varget and H4831SC work great but just not the velocity I wanted.

The best thing about the Amax you do not have to chase the lands. I have shot them in 243,243AI, 260AI, 7WSM, and 300 win mag with excellent success. If you get the to shoot, buy every box you can get your hands on because they can be hard to get at times.
