You can get it roughly sighted in just by eyeball but it takes a cradle or some other devise to hold it perfectly still. Mount the gun in the cradle so that the barrel is pointing towards a wall about 20 or so ft away. Sight your eyeball down the side and then the top of the barrel and have someone put a piece of tape on the wall where your eye tells you the barrel is pointing. Then, adjust the crosshairs to match the tape. It isn't perfect, but it will get you on paper at that distance and you can do your fine adjusting from that point.
