Yep, I see that the forward screw head is just a plug screw. It is 2.2 inches forward of the working screw. The question is I guess whether anyone makes a tang aperture sight with that spacing, and with the forward screw that small.
I didn't understand the idea of the double sided tape. Were you suggesting using the tape between the new tang sight and the tang, and using only the existing (or a longer) wood screw? Too simple and easy. It must be a good idea
