You are damned if you do. What was your upbringing? It would display a complete lack of class. Have you ever shopped in a jewelry store? How do you think she is going to feel telling her personal friends and relatives of such a gift. She will be embarassed. Do you plan of wearing camo or jeans at your wedding?

A diamond or some other form of personal item.
