Personally, I like and use the Meprolight night sights for everything now.

I used to use a one ragged hole rear aperture sight coupled with a ruger metal with red insert front sight and really ennoyed the set up, as long as I never holstered the gun due to the rear sight. I also just couldn't live with the standard rear sight's inability to stay put with any serious use.

If you want the end all be all toughest sights you can get then Bowen Classic Arms rough country sights are what you should get.
