The .40S&W was designed for a HP or FP bullet profile so practically any available shape is going to feed fine. The .45AC and 9mm were designed specifically for the round nose FMJ profile and had issues in some guns not feeding HP reliably. But the .40S&W was designed from the start for them.

I have shot the lead truncated cone (straightline slope for the ogive), HP, and FMJ Flat Points (rounded ogive like a RN but flat top) without a problem. I think the .40SW is one of the most forgiving when it comes to COL and bullet profile. I have only shot them in Glocks so other guns may be more particular ut I have never heard of a bullet profile feeding issue with any .40SW pistol.
