Riddle me this... Glock 30 vs Glock 27

They both hold 9+1 with flush mags, they both absorb somewhat equal recoil (overall), they both have roughly the same muzzle energy on standard ammo, and the .40 isnt that much smaller than the 45 in lenght or diameter.

So why is the G30 so much bigger than the G27? The G30 is about the same size as a G23.
Anyone know why the Glock 45's are so fat and big in general?
(Aside from their ability to handle +P, and even 45 Super in the G21)
Is all that extra girth and weight required to handle +P, and if so whats the story with the G36??

Seems to me they could stuff 7+1 of 45 into the G27? No?
