I had a Mountie in the early 60's and loved it, but it had a flaw that bugged me so much, I got rid of it.
The rifle was used for plinking and hunting. From a rest, I could shoot under 3/4" at 50 yards with the receiver sight.
The flaw? The top of the receiver was not perpendicular to the sides. When I mounted a Williams 5D receiver sight the flaw was so obvious it drove me nuts!!! It may not have bothered me to that extent today, or I might have just milled it to make it right.
