No reason why you can't carry it ...if you want to carry a double stack gun ...with a good holster that is properly fit for the gun and a good belt, its not a big deal.

Personally, I prefer a single stack gun for carry...over a Sig 226 ...especially IWB...but in a scabbard style holster OWB ...its not a big deal on a wide gun like that.

I have a couple of all stainless 226 models ...one in 9mm and one in .40S&W...and they're too wide for me to carry especially getting in and out of a vehicle IWB is just too thick ( over a steel 5" 1911 ) ...and the 226's are on the heavy side..
