Hello all.... I am very new to gun "ownership" as I have been given my Grandfathers S&W 9mm that he used as a sheriff. I have shot guns my wholelife, but this is the first gun I have owned.

I was looking for a manual to show how to break the gun down and clean it, but have found it hard to find as the gun is stamped S&W Model 69. Seems S&W never made a model 69 from what I read on the internet.

I don't have the Serial number or gun with me at this moment, but I can take a picture and post the Serial number later today....

In the mean time, is it true that there is no Model 69?

Edit: Never mind on the model identification.... I must be somewhat blind. It's a model 59 not 69....
