I'm a big believer in JB Bore paste. This will really get a barrel super clean (which sometimes is not what you really want). I start with Butch's bore shine, then JB & finally clean the paste out with regular Hoppe's. As for lubricating, I use very light coat of white lithium grease on bolt lugs, hoppe's gun oil on other moving parts. All lubrication is in moderation. For rust prevention I like spray silicon on a rag slid over everything.
