Colorado movie theatre shooting

I am curious as to what might be a good reaction in such a situation. Suppose you are carrying and 1) are in the front row, opposite side of theatre when the guy starts shooting, 2) in the middle of the theatre when the guy starts shooting, and you are carring a 1) 5 shot pocket revolver, 2) 14 shot 9mm. What is the course of action that would best return a 'best' outcome. Folks were shot running towards the exits, folks were shot sitting in their seats, folks were shot trying to hide. What is a plausible course of action in a crowded theatre with some guy starting to shot people for the 'best' outcome ?

My first thought was to draw my pocket revolver and drop to the ground concealing the revolver under me. Then hope the guy goes the other way. If not and he comes my way I will probably die with my boots on if he gets too close. Tough choice try to flee, or try to play dead.
