Somehow, I'm guessing you're not on too many forums to discuss your other "tools", are you?
Appearance matters on some guns more than others. My carry gun just has to be rugged and functional. As long as it doesn't look like it was built by a deranged, blind monkey, it doesn't have to be pretty. Other guns have to look nice. It depends on what they're used for and why I bought that particular piece.
The generic "they're tools" thing is just silly.
