Why on earth would anyone even do that?
Unless it was to hide a really nasty or cracked stock, maybe.
It has to be kind of hard on the cheek when shooting.
Undercoating is very hard to remove.
For cars, it takes heat and scraping.
You might get lucky and find the undercoating wasn't put on well and it might peel off with gentle prodding.
Otherwise, since the use of heat might not be a good idea, try sanding it off.
